Hello Friends,
How are you doing? I hope this finds you well and your week is off to a great start.
Last week, we talked about making one important shift in the way we think about product creation:
Instead of always asking,
“What should I make next?”
start asking,
“What can I build around what I already have?”
Today, I want to take that idea a step further.
Because sometimes there are a lot more products hiding inside one good idea than we realize.
Let’s say you have a printable gardening planner.
At first, it may look like one product.
But look at what could grow from it.
You could create:
• A garden journal • Seed inventory pages • Plant-care cards • A garden project planner • Seasonal planting checklists • A gardening log book for KDP • A beginner gardening version • A flower gardening version • A vegetable gardening version • A coordinating printable bundle
And that’s only one direction.
You Can Change the Audience
Maybe your original product was made for general gardeners.
Could you create a version for:
• Beginners • Kids • Seniors • Homesteaders • Container gardeners
You Can Change the Format
Could the same basic idea become:
• A planner • A journal • A workbook • A checklist • Cards • A printable bundle • A KDP book
You Can Create Companion Products
What would naturally go with it?
Maybe:
• Stickers / Clipart • Labels • Trackers • Bonus worksheets • Digital papers • Matching printables • Pinterest graphics
You Can Change the Theme or Occasion
Could you create:
• A seasonal version • A holiday version • A gift edition • A beginner edition • A niche-specific edition
And if you work with PLR, this becomes even more useful.
A PLR product doesn’t have to be something you simply change the cover on and sell once.
You can use it as a starting point.
You can change the audience.
Change the format.
Create companion products.
Turn part of it into a mini product.
Combine it with something else.
Or use it to build a whole small collection.
That’s one of the reasons I think it’s worth taking a closer look at what we already own before constantly searching for the next new thing.
I Made a Free Worksheet to Help
I created a new printable called:
One Product → 25 Products
It walks you through five ways to expand one product, PLR pack, graphic set, template, or idea:
1. Change the audience Who else could use it?
2. Change the format What else could it become?
3. Create companion products What naturally goes with it?
4. Change the occasion or theme Could it become seasonal, niche, beginner, gift, or specialty versions?
5. Package and sell it differently Could it become a bundle, collection, Etsy printable, KDP edition, PLR product, bonus, or upsell?
There’s room to generate 25 different possibilities.
But here’s the part I really want you to remember:
You are not supposed to make all 25.
The purpose is to help you see possibilities.
Then you narrow them down and choose the few that make the most sense for your business.
You can get the worksheet here:
[DOWNLOAD ONE PRODUCT → 25 PRODUCTS]
Before Friday
Choose one product or asset to use with the worksheet.
It could be:
• A product you already sell • A PLR product • A printable • A KDP book idea • A planner • A graphic pack • A template • Or an unfinished idea sitting on your computer
Spend a little time filling in the worksheet.
Don’t worry about creating anything yet.
Because on Friday, our Make It This Weekend challenge is going to be about the most important part:
choosing which idea deserves your attention next.
More ideas are useful.
More unfinished projects are not. 🙂
Talk soon,
Tamra💕
P.S. If you end up with 10, 15, or even all 25 spaces filled in, that’s great. On Friday, I’ll show you how to narrow those ideas down so you leave the weekend with one clear next step.
